Jennifer Aniston's Face-Framing Layers Are 2025's Version of 'The Rachel'
The updated style is a new take on the 90s Gist
Jennifer Aniston revived her iconic Friends hairdo with a modern twist.
She wore a curve cut in her latest Instagram video.
Aniston popularized a choppy layered bob called "The Rachel" in the ' Aniston gave "The Rachel" a modern update on Sunday as she celebrated the launch of her hair care brand LolaVie's latest release.
"Our Dry Shampoo just dropped 🩶 … and IT'S SO GOOD! I hope you love too! 🥰 @lolavie," Aniston wrote in the caption of her latest Instagram post.
In the clip, the Friends star dons a trendy curve cut, a longer version of her iconic '90s-era lob.
'The curve cut, also known as the C-cut, is a layered haircut where the shortest layers frame the face, and the remaining layers become longer as they reach the back of the hair, which, in turn, creates a curve that resembles a C-shape,' hairstylist Annagjid 'Kee' Taylor told InStyle in 2023.
At its core, 'The Rachel' is all about flippy sections styled round, a softer approach for severe layers. The contemporary curve cut (which is typically a touch longer than its prototype) has found fans in tastemakers like Hailey Bieber, Laura Harrier, and Lucy Hale.
The cut is so flattering because it can work on so many hair types and can really frame the face to accentuate your facial features,' Taylor said.
Earlier this year, Aniston celebrated her 56th birthday with a never-before-seen throwback photo.
In the snapshot, the young star sassily posed with her head tilted to the side, as she fixed her hair with one hand and wore a patterned skirt and dark-colored tank top. And while her hair at the time wasn't exactly "The Rachel" cut everyone knows and loves today, Aniston still was sporting a head full of layered locks complete with bangs.
"Thank you for all the beautiful birthday wishes! This kid is feeling very grateful and very loved," Aniston wrote alongside the black-and-white photo on Instagram.
